Super Lube Hub and Spindle Maintenance Guide
How to Maintain Your Super Lube Hub or Spindle
To keep your Super Lube hub/spindle in top condition, it’s recommended to replace the grease every 3 months or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Super Lube Spindle/Hub Lubrication
- Remove the rubber expansion plug from the grease (hub) cap.
- Attach a conventional grease gun securely to the grease fitting located at the end of the spindle (for spindle lube) or behind the hub (for hub lube).
- Pump grease slowly while rotating the wheel. The new grease will force out old grease through the front of the hub/spindle and into the dust cap reservoir.
- Continue pumping until only fresh, clean grease is visible.Wipe away excess grease from the hub and cap area.
- Replace the rubber plug once greasing is complete.
✅ Use Lucas “Red n’ Tacky” or a quality lithium-based marine grease such as Castrol Pyroplex Red.
Additional Reminders
- Bearings should be greased every 3 months or 1000 miles, whichever comes first
- Bearings and seals should be removed, inspected and replaced as needed every 12 months, regardless of usage.
- When reinstalling the hub, apply approximately 50 ft. lbs. of torque. This translates into a full hand pressure load with a 12″ long wrench.
- Check lug nuts after the first 25 miles of towing following any maintenance or reassembly.
